Our Business Story
Cotswold Mobility was conceived in 2002 by Managing Director Peter Prentice.
Being a wheelchair user himself, he has a lifetime of personal experience.
With an agricultural background, he initially trained as an Agricultural Engineer achieving a HNC in Engineering.
His professional career began in the NHS as a Wheelchair Technician progressing to Senior Rehabilitation Engineer. During his NHS career he gained extensive knowledge of all aspects of both adult and paediatric mobility and is recognised by the Institute of Physics and Engineering in Medicine as an Incorporated Engineer (IIPEM)
In addition to Cotswold Mobility Peter is proud to be the second generation to own and run the family farm and when not repairing wheelchairs he can be found on the farm tending to the sheep or on a tractor. Keeping his links with agriculture, the office and workshop of Cotswold Mobility are located on the farm.
Peter states: “Experience has shown that many companies selling mobility equipment have no experience to advise or facilities to provide support when things go wrong. Cotswold Mobility was created to address this issue and provide good quality products, advice and a high level of service at a reasonable price.”
